RECENT WEBSITE UPDATES
November 21, 2008 . . . A new link [Reunion 2010] has been added to the portside navigation bar so stop by often for continuous updates from Dick Chamberlain MM3 71-72 leading up to our next reunion!
November 20, 2008 . . . There is a tribute to the USS SAVANNAH (AOR 4) currently on the WTOC11 website, a Savannah GA television station. I do not know how long it will be available. The text of the editorial is shown as well as a video. Click on:
WTOC Editorial Salute We are still trying to get the Veterans Day 6PM & 11PM news broadcast and/or the entire tape shot during the plaque dedication.
November 20, 2008 . . . The bulletin board SHIPS LOG has been discontinued. After the first of the new year 2009, look for a new link [CREWS NEWS] to take its place. Eliminating spam registrations had become a nuisance and registered members rarely used the bulletin board for discussions among the membership. Further, 80% of the registered members never joined the Association or made donations to maintaining this website.
October 17, 2008 . . . There are some important last minute changes to be noted on the [Reunion 2008] link on the portside navigation bar.
September 2, 2008 . . . Greetings! The November 9-12 Reunion is about two months away. Click on the [Reunion 2008] link on the portside navigation bar for changes almost daily from now on in.
PREVIOUS IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT
Howdy Shipmates! On May 15, 2008 I move our website to new servers so you may encounter DNS problems depending on where you are browsing from etc for the next couple of days. Please check out all areas of the site and send me an email if you find a problem, like an image not loading or a page that doesn't display or if the ships log isn't working correctly. You can reach me at webmaster@usssavannah.com
During the 2007 holiday season I received an email from one of our shipmates, BM2 Bill Quinn, that contained a Christmas poem. I found it very worthy of posting on it's own page! You can read it by clicking here
I have received several photos to be added to the Photo Gallery.
Long hours at my regular work has prevented me from getting them up and viewable.
I will get to them just as soon as possible.
Thank you for your patience.
They will be here to view as I can take care of them!
Was the USS SAVANNAH your first duty station? She was my first and almost everyone else I knew onboard her's first as well. One of our shipmates, Efrain Ruiz, wrote a story that described his stay onboard her, Check it Out! Click Here To Read The Story

Attention SAVANNAH Shipmates
During the business meeting at the Nov 9-12, 2008 reunion, the attendees agreed that the Association should begin to pay for the monthly registration costs of running this ad-free website.
The Association will begin making two semi-annual payments (Jan 1st & Jul 1st) to RJK Productions, a company run by a SAVANNAH Shipmate Jeff Kessel SK3 89-93.
This effort by the Association however, does not cover all the expenses of maintaining the website.
Supplemental donations from SAVANNAH Shipmates would greatly ease the monetary burden.

or eMail the Webmaster to ask where to mail your personal contribution!
Thank you to all who have donated so far. Your contributions are keeping our site and the memory of the USS SAVANNAH (AOR 4) alive!
For the Association, Dale Ebersold PNCS 72-74
